10 Classic Rock Bands That Released 5 Great Albums In A Row
9. Eagles to Hotel California - Eagles
The '70s will forever be known as the golden age for rock and roll. While offshoots like punk and metal were finding their respective audiences at the time, the era of guitar bombast was still well represented on the charts. However, there was something a little different rising up from the hot shores of California.
Starting in the early '70s, everything the Eagles touched since their debut turned to gold. Originally forming as part of Linda Ronstadt's backing group, the original partnership of Don Henley and Glenn Frey ended up becoming a never ending well of fantastic material. Though the band's first outing is a straight ahead California rock record, the band ended up flirting with R&B, country, and even bluegrass across albums like One Of These Nights and On The Border.
There were plenty of hits to be found amongst any of these records, but it all built to Hotel California, which gave them their most classic material and one of the greatest guitar solos that has ever been committed to tape. Even though the band would never match the afterglow of their initial run, these songs have become classics for a whole new generation of rock fans.
