10 Classic Rock Bands That Released Three Perfect Albums In A Row
2. The Rolling Stones
While enduring rock icons the Rolling Stones had already achieved international notoriety by the time they released Beggar's Banquet, this was a whole new ball game. Featuring generational enigmatic talents Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, highlights of the band's 1968 offering included Sympathy for the Devil, which is without hyperbole, one of the most throughly brilliant songs ever written.
Internal turmoil was to follow for the Stones however. Brian Jones, the man who had founded the band was fired due to his rampant drug addiction; he was tragically found dead in his pool within a month of being booted from the band.
Despite this appalling turn of events, 1969's Let It Bleed was an unqualified success, producing another monster hit for the band with Gimme Shelter in a classic outing, hitting number 1 and 3 in the UK and US respectively.
Both of those number 1 spots bore the Stones' name by 1971 as triple platinum Sticky Fingers was released. Country-esque Wild Horses and bluesy classic Brown Sugar blew audiences away then and have been doing so ever since.
It is hard to narrow down a three album stretch for a band as incredible as the Rolling Stones, as their entire catalogue arguably reads like one long perfect list of rock music. However, gun to my head, these three would have to be the pick of the bunch.
