10 Classic Rock Songs About Femmes Fatales

9. Dirty Diana (Michael Jackson, 1987)

In terms of theme, Dirty Diana is Bad€™s equivalent to Billie Jean in Thriller, although less funky and more hard-rock than its predecessor. Dirty Diana is the name a sultry and seductive groupie that reminds us that there was a time when the androgynous pop genius struggled with temptation from females. One supposes. MJ penned this song himself, which benefitted from a great contribution from guitarist Steve Stevens. Dirty Diana is a textbook femme fatale and succeeds where Billie Jean failed. MJ wanted nothing to do with Billie, (a crazy woman who claimed to have carried Jacko€™s baby, according to the lyrics!), but in this song, Michael succumbs to the charms of Dirty Diana, who may well have been the reason why the whole Lisa Marie thing never worked out. "I said my baby's at home, she's probably worried tonight/I didn't call on the phone to say that I'm alright/Diana walked up to me, she said €œI'm all yours tonight€/At that I ran to the phone, saying €œbaby I'm alright€/I said €œbut unlock the door cause I forgot the key€/She said €œhe's not coming back cause he's sleeping with me€
