10 Classic Rock Songs That Were Likely Inspired From Other Songs

5. The Lemon Song - Led Zeppelin

Why should Oasis be the ones that are getting all of the ridicule? Everyone draws from their influences when they need to, and there's a beauty in taking the songs that you loved as a kid and reworking them into your own unique thing. And if we're talking bands that wore their influences a little too close, there's a case to be made for Led Zeppelin being one of the best blues rock cover bands in history.

Going through almost every one of Zeppelin's classic albums, you can hear them taking the blues tropes that they had learned as kids and just made their own warped version of it, like when they took the basis of Dazed and Confused by Jake Holmes and turned it into their now definitive version. It may have been easy to just make it original here and there, but it's downright cheeky to see them trying to pass off the Lemon Song as an original by them, when it's adapted from the blues classic Killing Floor.

Although Jimmy Page does sprinkle in some of his guitar licks into the mix, all of the turnarounds that go on in this song are what you'd find in your average cover of the tune, with the title just being taken from a random line on the back half of the song.
