10 Classic Song Remixes Better Than The Original

7. Bush - "Mouth (The Stingray Remix)"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkfNRooifK4 Gavin Rossdale and his bandmates were never known for their originality when it came to crafting sonic landscapes, but they were usually able to deliver a solid bit of craftsmanship and hook savviness. Unfortunately, their sludgy, semi-grunge sound often weighed down some otherwise great songwriting. There are plenty of examples of this found on their sophomore album, Razorblade Suitcase, but the most egregious is "Mouth." A plodding, jolty attempt at writing a stark, Pixies-esque rock anthem, "Mouth" is pulled down because of its incredible lethargy. The band just sounds tired slogging through it. But at least Bush had the good sense to realize this about themselves, and chose to release an album full of remixes in 1997. And though much of Deconstructed is an awkward blend of post-grunge and techno, the band managed to add another layer of slinky sex to "Mouth" that helped it become a major success. It achieves the perfect levels of electronica and rock without ever coming off as a cheap cash-in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCO92__Zn-8
