10 Classic Songs With Killer Guest Stars
5. No One Knows - Queens of the Stone Age
Any fan of Queens of the Stone Age is well aware of the somewhat open door policy when it comes to members.
While the crux of the band has been handled by Josh Homme over the years, some of Homme's most high profile musical friends have found their way onto the band's releases, from Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top contributing guitar leads to Elton John coming on during the band's 2013 album ...Like Clockwork.
However, if there's one musician who gave the band a shot in the arm, it had to be Dave Grohl.
Joining the group during an off-period for the Foo Fighters, Grohl lent his skills to the band's 2002 album Songs for the Deaf, which catapulted them into superstardom. While Grohl's drums shine on every track, there's something interesting about "No One Knows," as Grohl flies off the handle at every turn, putting in the most incoherent tom fills imaginable and somehow making them work.
Set to a bluesy beat, this song has one of the most demented swing feels you will ever encounter in a rock song. Homme could have easily gotten a metal drummer to help this band get heavier, but the amount of power behind Grohl's drums is what could have happened if the Foo Fighting man decided to stay behind the kit after Nirvana left this world.
