10 Controversial Reasons Nickelback Are Actually Awesome

1. Everyone Knows A Nickelback Song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cQh1ccqu8M It doesn't matter if you hate them or you love them, you know a Nickelback song and as a matter of fact you probably know many more than just one. It's 2014 now which means Nickelback has been a platinum selling artist for 14 years. Every time the band puts out an album it's automatically played all over the radio, TV and purchased by millions of people worldwide. It doesn't matter what you do, you can't escape Nickelback. If you told me you couldn't sing me the chorus of at least one Nickelback song word for word I probably wouldn't believe you and even if you were telling the truth chances are high that you could replicate one of their songs with a passable hum. Whether you like to admit it or not you've had a Nickelback song stuck in your head at one point. What is the cause of this phenomenon you ask? Well the truth is Nickelback is just really good at writing catchy music. Every single Nickelback album spawns several monster singles and quite often those singles still manage to get airplay many years after their initial release. You can hate on it all you want but the people don't lie, the fact that Nickelback is so popular is a pretty good indication that they're doing something right. They write catchy music and despite the fact that hipsters may try to convince you otherwise, there's nothing wrong with liking catchy, popular music. It takes just as much talent to write a well received, catchy pop song that appeals to the masses as it does to write an esoterical, critically acclaimed, indie masterpiece and whether you can stomach it or not, Nickelback's talent is a monster that can't be stopped.

I am a writer/musician and hopeless entertainment addict. I could talk your ear off all day about my vast (albeit completely useless) knowledge of pro-wrestling and then argue with you how the characters in LOST were more important than the plot itself. Yeah I'm that guy. Follow me on twitter @IAMJoshFoster.
