10 Cracking Songs Released After The Artist Died

1. Kurt Cobain €“ You Know You're Right

Kurt Cobain Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of 90's grunge band Nirvana, was found dead in his home on the 8th April 1994, having committed suicide three days previously. Although a note was found beside his body, written to his childhood imaginary friend, many fans also consider the song You Know You're Right to be a suicide note. The lyrics seem to show his inner pain; 'I will move away from here', 'I will crawl away for good' and 'I always knew it would come to this'. The song was released on the compilation album 'Nirvana' in 2002, but as it was played at a few live recordings both in Cobain's lifetime and afterwards, it was not entirely unknown. However, this was its first official release. Ten years after his death, the home demo version of the song was also released. It is this one that seems to be more heart-felt than the originally released version. Although the lyrics aren't quite as obviously depressing, it was an earlier draft of the song which implies that the feelings that prompted the writing were still raw within him.
