6. All Nightmare Long (Death Magnetic, 2008)
http://youtu.be/spsnQWtsUFM Given the amount of memorable songs they can cull from their past, it can be easy to glance over the later output. For bands at Metallicas level and beyond, a new album is a thinly-veiled excuse to embark upon a money-spinning world tour (See: Stones, Rolling and 2, U). Death Magneticwasnt to be Metallicas greatest album exactly, but it did prove that theres life in the old hell-hound yet. All Nightmare Long, with its eastern flavoured intro and relentless pace, is perhaps the standout track from the album. It also has a nice solo from Kirk Hammett, possibly gagging for it after being so forcibly restrained on St. Anger. (AND the official video is ace)
