9. Breaking Benjamin
Breaking Benjamin formed in 1998 and has released four studio albums, getting better with each effort. Their studio albums consist of
Saturate,
We Are Not Alone,Phobia and
Dear Agony. The bands first album, Saturate, felt reminiscent of many rock bands from the early 2000s, like Default. However the album had some good songs like Shallow Bay and Polyamorous. However, their next three albums showed much progress both in lyrics and overall heaviness.
Dear Agony brought the energy of the original album with the moody lyrics of
Phobia and created something great. That was the bands latest effort, back in 2009; hopefully they have some new music on the horizon. Some of their best songs include Dear Agony, Diary of Jane, Lady Bug, Breath, Into the Nothing and What Lies Beneath. Benjamin Burnley is the lead vocals and rhythm guitarist for BB, another damn good voice. Burnley gives each note a wealth of emotion, ranging from utter sorrow to searing anger. Unfortunately Burnley has quite a few phobias, which inspired their third studio album, such as fear of flying and hypochondria. His fear of flight means that the band has never toured outside of the United States or Canada, probably one of the reasons they arent bigger than they are.
