2. Tremonti
The only man to feature twice on this list, and technically not a band, Mark Tremonti. In between Alter Bridge albums, Creed albums and instructional guitar dvds, Mark Tremonti found the time to make a solo album. In 2013 Mark Tremonti released his first ever solo album,
All I Was. This marked the first time we got to hear Tremonti really sing. He tested the waters with Alter Bridges song Words Darker Than Their Wings, in which he sings half the song with Myles Kennedy. Any scepticism over Tremontis singing abilities were buried when the album was released. From start to finish the album is a masterpiece and received critical acclaim to back it up.
All I Was is heavier than either of Tremontis other projects, featuring speed and thrash metal elements. Tremonti provided both the vocals and lead guitar on the album and it highlights just how incredibly talented he is. Being a one man project this album could have been repetitive but its quite the opposite, with catchy hooks and amazing guitar. All I Was, You Waste Your Time, Brains, Wish You Well are only a few songs from a faultless album that you should immediately listen to.
All I Was cant really be considered a debut album as Tremontis been around a long time but for his first foray into the solo world its a sign of great things to come. Creed was a huge band back in the 90s and their last album,
Full Circle, was, (in my opinion), their best to date but with Alter Bridge and his solo career, Creed are easily the weakest card in Tremontis deck. He is possibly the most musician artist of the decade.
