Released: June 1 1989 One of the Pixies' better known songs, who's poppy feel wouldn't sound out of place on a car advertisement. It boasts a simplistic guitar riff that will get stuck in your head from the first listen and some of the catchiest lyrics produced by any band, it is absolutely infectious. Although initially disliked by the band's label head, so much so it was kept off their debut release "Come On Pilgrim", as he felt it sounded "too poppy" it has become a fan favourite and broken into the mainstream through it's usage in 2009 romantic comedy "500 Days of Summer". Although it seems many have missed the point of the song, regarding it simply as a feel good song. Ironic, given the description of the songs meaning provided by vocalist Black Francis to NME as being about "Winos and hobos travelling on the trains, who die in a California earthquake". This theme is hinted at in lines such as "Big shake on the boxcar waiting" Detailing how the earthquake affects the train car that the degenerates whom the narrative follows are travelling in, with the dark aftermath shown in "A big, big stone fall and break my crown" as debris falls and kills the main characters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hvi4iA3PnKE
