10 Decent Albums With Way Too Much Filler

9. Presto - Rush

As long as they've been around, it's crazy to think about how little Rush have stumbled over the years. Although most prog fans have their favorites amongst the gang's catalog, there aren't too many areas in the Canadian rockers' work that makes people cringe or anything. No, the worst kind of Rush album...just comes down to being a bit lifeless and boring.

Given that it was the end of the '80s, Presto falls in a bit of a weird spot for Rush. Even though they had predominantly changed into a synth heavy band for most of the '80s, this is where those squelchy sounding notes started to get a little bit much for most fans. Hell, it already was starting to get a little overbearing back on Hold Your Fire, so just piling more of the problem on top of everything isn't going to exactly save it.

It also doesn't help that this is probably the weakest written album that the guys have ever committed to tape. Though there are a handful of songs that have some decent food for thought from Neil Peart, the real heart of the music just seems to fall flat half the time. Rush have always been known to leave hooks that stick with you for days, so when you have songs that are in one ear at out the other, it's not looking at the most glowing of endorsements.
