10 Deep-Cut Ghost Songs That You Need To Listen To

1. Absolution

When it comes to quintessential Ghost songs, Absolution truly has it all. Bouncy guitar riffs, religious overtones, melodic choruses and sudden - yet deeply appropriate - uses of the piano not only elevate the song to new heights but were highly emblematic of the Meliora era in general.

Over the years, the label 'Spooky Abba' has been applied to the band numerous times, and this track could definitely make the case for that being true, the fusion of hard-rock and pop sensibilities on this song is truly irresistible, even in spite of its morbid lyrics. The sudden shift from creeping and foreboding verses to the uplifting chorus is a true display of everything that Ghost does so well and is sure to be stuck in your head for weeks to come.

Despite the song's prevalence within the band's setlist over the past few years, it has sadly been absent from recent rituals and despite the plethora of absolute bangers that the band has to offer, their shows don't feel complete without this rousing number.

Maybe next time around we'll all get the chance to cry for absolution once again.
