What else could really be the number one 'essential' classic Fall Out Boy song?

Released on their first album Take This To Your Grave, Saturday has every element that makes a great Fall Out Boy tune – high energy, awesome riffs, vocal harmonies, lyrical maxims, conflicting tones, and the most fitting Pete Wentz screaming of all. It's been played last at pretty much every Fall Out Boy concert and is the highlight of every show. When the band play the song live, Wentz throws his bass to his ever-present tech, takes centre stage and performs his screams in amongst his adoring crowd. It's enough to give you chills.

At the end of the day, you can take away all the string sections, studio production, bells and whistles, but you'll still be left with a group of guys who are among the best songwriters and performers of the modern era, as shown on Saturday. It’s not necessarily the best song the band have released, but if you had to go to a Fall Out Boy gig and only had time to listen to one track, it would have to be Saturday.
