10 Famous Albums You Didn't Know Were Almost Completely Different
1. Kanye West – The Life Of Pablo
No matter what you think about the controversial release of Kanye West's latest record The Life Of Pablo, there's no doubt the album has seen some major publicity in recent months, making it one of the most anticipated and talked about releases in recent memory.
What's amazing, then, is that the album was almost firstly nothing like what was released, and secondly much more conventional in its distribution. Writing for the record began as early as 2013 (following the release of Yeezus the same year). Though many people are aware of the seemingly innumerable name changes (the album went from So Help Me God to SWISH to Waves before landing on Pablo) there were also extensive song changes.
In fact, the record being worked on before The Life Of Pablo was vastly different in content and tone, with songs like God Level, All Day, Only One, FourFiveSeconds and Tell Your Friends not appearing on the final releaseat all. One of the main criticisms of Pablo is its non-unity, and it's hard to imagine a record which features FourFiveSeconds and All Day fixing this problem, but still...there's definitely a lot of material fans never got to hear.
