At present, Danger Days is remembered as My Chemical Romance's final studio album, released in 2010 to immense commercial success and spawning the popular singles Na Na Na, Sing and Planetary (Go!). It marks the point in the band's career when they realized it's better to burn out than to fade away, and so it contributed to the ultimate dissolution of the theatrical rockers.

Things were almost very different, however. Danger Days was received warmly by fans and critics, and is considered a fitting send-off for the band. Originally, though, the album was set to be very different, going through two names: Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back (which ultimately became the title of a track on Danger Days) and Conventional Weapons: We're No Match For Them. Conventional Weapons consisted entirely of new tracks, songs more stripped back and quick-tempoed in nature.

After recording a whopping twenty-eight songs (the titles of which include Kiss The Ring, AMBULANCE, Burn Bright and Boy Division) My Chemical Romance decided the record added nothing to the genre, and so scrapped the entire thing, subsequently writing Danger Days.
