4. Being Late - Axl Rose

Google the words "Axl Rose late" and you get just shy of 2,000,000 results. By my estimates, that's a ratio between search term results and Guns 'n' Roses concerts that didn't run to time of about 1:1.

During the height of the band's powers in the late 80s and early 90s, there was a genuine sense of intrigue at Guns 'n' Roses shows. What time would Axl Rose make it to the venue? What time would he take the stage? Would he take umbrage with something halfway through the set, refuse to continue, walk off, and inadvertently start a mass series of fistfights in the venue, leading to around half a million dollars in damages?

All three of those things happened on three consecutive tours. All of them more than once.

Rose's chronic lateness became the stuff of rock legend, and was even directly responsible for founding GNR member Izzy Stradlin walking out on the group in 1991, telling his fellow bandmates that he couldn't work with the unprofessionalism anymore.

Without exception, the nadir of this came at a co-headline stadium show with Metallica in Montreal. With James Hetfield suffering severe burns in a pyro accident, their set was cut immediately short. With fellow rock-legends closing the night this shouldn't have been a problem, but Rose still hadn't even arrived at the venue, leaving the crowd stood waiting for well over an hour.

To make matters worse, Rose then decided he had voice problems and walked off stage midway through the set, leading to a mass brawl in the city. Total cost to repair; $400,000.
