10 Final Songs That Will Give You Chills

5. Me and the Devil Blues - Robert Johnson

As long as rock music has been alive, it's always the giants who like to pay homage to Robert Johnson. It's not too hard to see the connection either, with Johnson's bluesman persona becoming the blueprint for what made the old school rock and roll so electric, with fans in everyone from Keith Richards to Eric Clapton. Although Johnson never had that many recordings to his name, one of his final turns in the studio had something a lot more sinister in store.

Considering this was the same man who was claimed to have sold his soul to the devil for his guitar skills, Me and the Devil Blues feels like you're getting a sneak peek into some demonic activity from days gone by. Much like his blues classic Crossroads, this is Johnson drawing on that supposed "evil" energy to make his guitar talk...before he was eventually taken from us after being poisoned by a jealous lover.

It's even a little chilling how Johnson recorded this in the first place, opting to turn away from the studio window and face the wall due to his shyness towards anyone who watched him play. It could be just stage fright...and yet we might be hearing the result of Johnson being possessed to deliver his licks.
