10 Final Songs That Will Give You Chills

2. Mother Love - Queen

For most Queen fans, ending a career with the song the Show Must Go On is one of the best notes you could have hoped for. Although no one knew that Freddie Mercury was living with AIDS at this point, hitting some of the greatest high notes of his career on that song alone is enough for any other musicians' lifetime. But this is Freddie Mercury...and he was going to leave us on a gut punch that we weren't prepared for.

Looking to make as much music as possible with the time that he had left, Freddie kept on recording until his death in 1991, leaving Mother Love as one of the final songs he would create on Made in Heaven. Once you hear the song, it's clear that Freddie is much more subdued than usual, until the midpoint where he hits one of the most impressive vocal runs he has pulled off.

Just when you think it can't any better, reality sets in when Freddie drops out and we hear Brian May's voice covering for the rest of the song. As luck would have it, Freddie died midway through the recording and left the rest of the tracks for the band to finish up. This might be the last we have of Freddie, but Mother Love is still a testament to the man we all knew...bombastic, soaring, and ever the professional to the end.
