10 Genuine Reactions That Made Songs Better

2. I Want You (She's So Heavy) - The Beatles

There are a couple of interesting facts in relation to this Beatles song off the Abbey Road LP. Firstly, it is the last song The Beatles recorded in the studio together, and secondly, the track we hear on the album is actually two different takes mixed together.

Despite the technical skills required in piecing two different takes together, some background noise from the sessions was left on the final recording. There are numerous songs in The Beatles catalog with unintended voices and echoes on them, yet somehow the reaction heard in I Want You (She's So Heavy) seems to fit the song perfectly.

After John’s scream, around 4.30 mark, there is an audible yell in the background. Different theories have arisen as to why this happened, from a sound engineer protesting that Lennon’s screech was too loud, to Ringo saying “What was that about?” The most likely source of the sound, however, is probably someone in the studio – maybe Paul - yelling their approval. Whoever it was, it goes to show that despite their strained relationship at the time, The Beatles were still capable of producing bits of magic in the studio.
