10 Great Albums That Came Out After The Band Split Up
6. Stellar Revival - Love, Lust & Bad Company
Admittedly a less commonly known name compared to others who feature here, Stellar Revival are a truly tantalising tale of what could have been. Formed in 2008 by members of Miami based bands Westview and Copacetic, Stellar Revival seemed to be on the fasttrack to success in their early years.
Starting off with local tours, then US tours before quickly turning to international shows by 2011, the sky truly was the limit for Stellar Revival. But through no fault of their own, it wasn’t built to last. Following tours with Shinedown, Halestorm and Theory to name a few, the band focused on recording their debut album, ‘Love, Lust & Bad Company’, for a 2012 release. Complications with their record label, Capitol, caused the album to be postponed several times. After weeks became months, the band's frustration hit boiling point and they split up in 2013 to escape their labels clutches.
Finally in 2015, the band managed to get the album into the public eye after over three years of delays. The album was a huge hit on streaming sites, gathering millions upon millions of streams. The opening track, ‘The Crazy Ones’, has attracted nearly 10 million streams single handedly. If you think the three year delay was bad, then you’ll be shocked to learn their 2012 live album from Download Festival wasn’t released until 2020! Capitol Records should be kicking themselves for letting these guys get away.
