9. Dio - Tenacious D
Comedic songs are a great place to search for short bangers, and there are few funnier gentlemen in all of rock than Jack Black and Kyle Gass.
Tenacious D are absolute heroes who honoured one of their own idols on their debut album from 2001.
You're absolutely spoilt for choice for micro-songs on this record; only five of the 21 songs run over three minutes long. We could have selected One Note Song, Karate, or even the moving love ballad Cock Pushups for this list, but we decided to go for a song that honoured a legend of the game.
Dio is an homage to the metal singer Ronnie James Dio. It calls for Dio to pass the torch down to the D so they can continue his legacy. There's also a bit about making goulash, because this is a Tenacious D song after all.
Despite the song calling him "too old to rock", RJD reportedly loved it. He put Black and Gass in the video for his song Push and then returned the favour by appearing in their movie The Pick of Destiny.
That movie might have been terrible, but it's the thought that counts.
