10 Great Rock Bands Snubbed From The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

4. The Jam - 18 Years

In the punk scene of the 70's, the Jam crafted some of the most exciting sounds of pop. Crafted in the Mod-style of the 60's, frontman Paul Weller led this power trio through a half-decade of smash singles and near perfect albums. Along the way, the band were some of the best musicians to ever compose power pop, alongside other heavyweights like The Cars and Cheap Trick. From "A Town Called Malice" to "To Be Someone," Weller truly knew how to nail a pop hook.

The accolades have certainly come to the band, but only in bits. Musicians from all walks of life from Billie Joe Armstrong to Noel Gallagher have said as much about the Jam's influence on their writing styles. Even when performing at the Royal Albert Hall, Pete Townshend brought Weller out to sing on a couple of Who tunes.

Since they never got much fanfare in America, the entire Hall seems to have deleted the band from the present memory. Even if the band did not reunite for the ceremony, the recognition for this band's influence is highly deserved.
