10 Great Rock Bands Who Never Released An Album

3. Just Brothers

Another duo on this list, brothers Jimmy and Frank Bryant, (albeit supported by several session musicians) released a handful of singles in their short lifetime, during the second half of the '60s. The Bryant's started out as session musicians themselves, and got their big break quite be chance, stepping in during a recording with Winifred Terry (of The Drifters) when the vocalist hired for that gig proved not up to scratch.

The Just Brothers released just four singles under their own names, across different labels, before returning to session work, but their song, Sliced Tomatoes, soon became a notable hit in the Northern Soul scene.

Nearly three decades later, that same song rose to prominence once again, when producer Fat Boy Slim extensively sampled the groove from Sliced Tomatoes, using this as a framework around which to build his hit single, The Rockafeller Skank. Below you can hear the original Sliced Tomatoes, and what a fantastic record it is!
