10 Great Songs That Said "F-ck You" To Critics

1. John Fogerty - "Vanz Kant Danz"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjpAYfCFmJ4 Have you ever heard of an artist plagiarizing themselves? (Nickelback's discography notwithstanding.) That's what John Fogerty's former boss accused him of copyright infringement after he released "The Old Man Down the Road," which Fantasy Records' Saul Zaentz claims sounded too similar to Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Run Through the Jungle," a song which Fogerty also wrote. A legal back-and-forth ensued, and their relationship became increasingly hostile. The jury found no grounds for infringement, but Fogerty was not content to let the court's ruling speak for itself, and released a bold attack via song. "Vanz Kant Danz" was a thinly-veiled character assassination of Zaentz, comparing the record exec to a pig who is also a notoriously crafty pickpocket. Calling him "a four-legged thief" may not have been the classiest tactic, but it certainly got his point across. As did this jaunty little chorus, repeated about a dozen times:
Vanz can't dance, but he'll steal your money,Watch him or he'll rob you blind
