10 Greatest Australian Songs Of All Time

2. You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC

If Chrissie Amphlett's lyrics brought a sensuality and sultriness to her loneliness, then AC/DC's track is a celebration of all things sexual. The tune was the lead single from 1980's masterpiece Back in Black album, their best in terms of both quality and commercial success. This was quite a staggering achievement from the band, considering the death of legendary lead vocalist Bon Scott during recording.

The band brought in Brian Johnson, the Englishman with the quilted hat, and with the new addition produced a number that belongs in rock heaven. Angus Young's epic riff effortlessly guides the listener in to the track, before Johnson's gravelling lyrics brings is into a hot sultry passion that he exalts from the rooftops.

There were plenty other smash hits produced by the band, and while the Bon Scott era was arguably stronger, it's this bonafide smash that is clearly their best single.
