10 Greatest Beatles Classic Rock Songs

One of George’s best, “Harrisongs,” though apparently his band mates were initially underwhelmed. It’s another example of Lennon and McCartney’s peculiar blind spot for their junior band mates emerging brilliance.

Nonetheless, the band helped George transform the track from a folksy demo into a monumental rock song. The track features a celebrated, epic guitar solo from Harrison’s best mate Eric Clapton and (for better or worse) you don’t get much more “classic rock” than that...

Clapton’s presence forced the other Beatles to be on their best behaviour, with Paul adding another of the tracks most distinctive moments, the ascending piano motif over the introduction.
