10 Greatest Classic Rock Albums Of The 1970s

2. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV

This technically untitled album caused a stir upon its release not only because it didn’t have a name, but also because of the huge impact it had on rock music. Having already proved their ability to change the tides of the music industry with three massive albums, Led Zeppelin were looking unstoppable in the early 1970’s.

When Led Zeppelin first broke into the music industry, critics predicted that the general music populus would reject their brash, raw and heavy sound (hence the name). But, they shocked everyone by becoming international stars and are still regarded as all time greats over 50 years after their conception.

1971’s installment into Led Zeppelin’s discography is most commonly remembered for giving the world ‘Stairway to Heaven’ (or ‘The Forbidden Riff’ to Wayne’s World fans). However, it included other brilliant songs like ‘Black Dog’, ‘Battle of Evermore’ and ‘When the Levee Breaks’.
