10 Greatest Comeback Albums In Rock

4. Everything Will Be Alright In the End - Weezer

There's always been a common discussion amongst Weezer fans as to when Weezer actually started to make bad music. While there are some fans that tend to worship at the alter of Rivers Cuomo, albums like Raditude seem miles away from the charming nerdy rock band that made songs like In the Garage and Buddy Holly back in the '90s. These guys were now soulless pop stars...until they decided to unpack their guitars and take things back to the shack.

Taking a break after the album Hurley in 2010, the band got back into the studio with producer Ric Ocasek to create an album of classic Weezer tunes, bringing back the electric guitars and Rivers getting a lot more candid about his feelings of love, angst, and family drama. In essence, Everything Will Be Alright In the End is practically an apology record from Weezer to the fans, knowing that they learned from their more questionable albums and are finally starting to write the songs that we all loved from them back in the day.

This isn't just a rehash of songs that sorta sound like Say It Ain't So either, as Rivers builds off of his life experiences in some songs, like hearing his girlfriend's perspective on the breakup song Go Away and making amends with his fathers, be it his biological one on Foolish Father or the rock and roll fathers that raised him on Eulogy for a Rock Band. After years of trying to fit Weezer into some ill fitting pop rock sound, Everything Will Be Alright In the End is the kind of Weezer record that brought them back down to Earth.
