If there's one thing we've learned throughout the years, it's that Corey is definitely a music nerd in more ways than one. From geeking out about classic metal from the '80s to openly defending the awesomeness that is ABBA, Taylor does not mince words when it comes to paying tribute to his heroes. Then again, only the brave would dare to take the almighty Dio.
Coming together for a tribute record to honor the fallen metal gods' legacy, Taylor takes on the beloved classic "Rainbow in the Dark" like a total pro, as he puts his all into every single scream he has to hit. Granted, the song is in a much lower key to suit Taylor's voice, but that doesn't diminish the raw power he brings across, trying his best to pay tribute to one of the founding fathers of metal.
Corey may have been known for his more aggressive singing style at this point, but a vocal performance like this made him sound like one of the golden gods of days gone by, singing about all things medieval and majestic. Before this, Corey was basically just the madman from Slipknot, but after these few minutes passed, he had earned a spot among the all time greats.
