10 Greatest Ever Fleetwood Mac Songs

3. Little Lies

Undoubtedly the highest point of Fleetwood Mac's late-80's foray into the world of synths and glitter pop, "Little Lies" was released in August 1987 as the third single for Tango in the Night.

Written by Christine McVie and her then-husband Eddy Quintela, Little Lies is a song about looking back on a failed relationship, wishing to go back to when the times were sweeter, before ultimately deciding to close the book and walk away. Whilst Stevie Nicks' songs are mysterious and eerie, Little Lies is the best example of the more tortured, delicate alternative sorts of love letters McVie is capable of producing.

Despite the fact the band was in the midst of turmoil, the chorus vocals of McVie, Nicks and Buckingham chiming in is some of the best examples of the magical natural chemistry Mac possessed. The song reached number five on the UK charts, and remains the last time the band reached the summit of the US charts to this day.

Little Lies is one of those Fleetwood Mac songs that many listeners claim was their first introduction to the band, with its direct melodies and whimsical lyrics making it an absolute timeless classic.
