10 Greatest Ever Radiohead Songs

2. Karma Police

Anthemic would be the perfect way to describe Karma Police. Inspired by the Beatles’ song Sexy Sadie, Karma Police is probably one of the most overt anti capitalist statements that the band has made this far. “I’ve given all I can, but we’re still on the payroll” implies the narrator is trapped in a cycle of what essentially constitutes exploition of the common worker

The song is also extremely self aware. The chorus indicates how subjective and misguided judgement by an individual can be. Although it seems simple, it is rather conceptually complex when you dive into the lyrics.

Counterintuivetly, the verses are actually the most upbeat moments in the song, and the chorus is more subdued and subtle.

Karma Police once again has Radiohead challenging expectations, and the result is one of the most rousing, meaningful yet instantly catchy songs in their catalogue
