10 Greatest Final Rock Albums Of The 2010s
2. Bad Magic - Motörhead
Fewer bands were as harshly affected by the 2010s in terms of member deaths than Motörhead, who lost all three of their classic line-up in just over two years.
Drummer Phil "Philty Animal" Taylor died in November 2015, whilst guitarist "Fast Eddie" Clarke passed on in January 2018, but the one that hit the hardest was the death of Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister in December 2015.
Even though he was a menace to himself and others, Lemmy (who was the only classic member still in the band at the time of their death) epitomised the rock star lifestyle and was regarded as a hero by many.
As a result of this wave of sad news, the band's 2015 album, Bad Magic, will go down as their last. Time had certainly caught up to the group, with Lemmy's vocals sounding rougher than usual, but this just added to the aura of the record; a band of outlaws standing tall in the face of overwhelming odds.
Filled with raw power, raw speed, and raw emotion, Bad Magic is the perfect swansong for a band who gave it all for rock 'n' roll.
