10 Greatest Final Rock Music Albums Of The 1990s

8. Maybe You’ve Been Brainwashed Too - New Radicals

It's time for the "first, last, and only albums" section of the list, beginning with a band that put out a defining '90s song, then vanished.

New Radicals, a duo comprising of Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois, broke through with their über radio-friendly soft rock classic, You Get What You Give, which still enjoys regular rotation to this very day.

That single was the prelude to Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too, an album that came out in 1998 and charted well all across the world. Then, at the peak of their powers, they quit.

Alexander announced that he was done being in the limelight and instead wanted to return to writing material for other people. This came just two weeks before the release of the album's second single, Someday We'll Know, which completely tanked as a result.

Still, Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too was a really fun, light album with some nice tunes on it, meaning that at least New Radicals went out on a high.

They would stay broken up for over 20 years, until getting back together for a one-off performance at US President Joe Biden's inauguration in 2021, because life is really weird sometimes.
