10 Greatest Guitar Duos In Rock Music History

2. John Lennon and George Harrison - The Beatles

Most people forget just how many barriers the Beatles were able to break down in such a short amount of time. Outside of giving the world the dozens of hits that we know them for today, they were also the first rock band that got on the same level as the Chuck Berrys of the world, breaking down the door for bands to be recognized as a unit. Although the duo that everyone loves is Lennon and McCartney, there's something to be said about the way that John Lennon and George Harrison played off each other.

In the talks of some of the greatest guitarists of all time, Harrison tends to be a bit underrated. While never being all that flashy of a player, his finesse with melody and being able to find the right notes in every song is something that you just can't teach. If you really think about it, you can probably sing a handful of Harrison's leads without even thinking about it.

And despite being heralded as the lesser guitar player in the band, John Lennon definitely had a unique approach to the instrument that you didn't hear at the time, going for more off the wall sounds and also keeping things tight in the rhythm section on songs like All My Loving. If you were to model your playing style after either of these two men, you'd be on your way to musical dominance.
