10 Greatest Hard Rock Debut Albums
7. Sixx: A.M. – The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack
A side project of Nikki Sixx, Sixx: A.M. perform under a more modern hard rock sound, as opposed to the bassists other band, Motley Crue, that operate in the older 80s style.
Their debut album was a soundtrack, written to accompany Nikki’s autobiography, The Heroin Diaries. The lyrical theme of the album gives great insight into the horrendous experiences that Sixx was subject to during his time as a drug addict, and provides a strong narrative that follows the events of the book excellently.
The guitar work of the former Guns N’ Roses man, Dj Ashba, is not to be taken lightly either, as he proves that he is one of the most underrated musicians in modern rock.
The standout song on the album is the lead single, Life Is Beautiful, which has catchy yet emotional lyrics, and comes straight from the darkest depths of Nikki's past.
