10 Greatest Hard Rock Debut Albums
2. Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin
The influence of Led Zeppelin’s self-titled debut is endless, introducing the world to one of the biggest musical acts of all time and laying the foundations for the rise of heavy metal in the following years.
Blending a heavy rock style with elements of blues, the album, released in 1969, was unlike anything that had come before it. Though critics did not look favorably on the record at the time of release, it has, in later years, been held in a much higher regard.
The guitar work of Jimmy Page is beautifully composed, and its execution is just as pleasant. This, when accompanied by the vocal work of Robert Plant, bass-lines of John Paul Jones, and revolutionary drumming of John Bonham, created one of the most enjoyable, and inspiring albums of all time.
