If there was a Mount Rushmore for east coast hip hop producers, I'd like to think Pete Rock is on it. He is one of the most finest producers to ever come out of New York, which is certainly nothing to scoff at. For a genre that really shows no love to their elder statesmen, it's incredible that Rock has been able to maintain such longevity. Arguably his greatest work as a producer is a perfect example of a lot of the stuff he's done during his career. While part of the legendary duo Pete Rock & C.L Smooth, Rock produced the incredible song They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y). The records unmistakable horns and cracking drums encompass the entire track and really show fans how great Pete's production skills are. While They Reminisce Over You will probably always be his finest piece of production, he similar elements for all of his music, making everything else he's done just as good.
