10 Greatest INXS Songs Of All Time

1. Never Tear Us Apart

What more can be said about this truly remarkable ballad that hasn't been said before? The best song from Kick, and the best for the band full stop, the song is just perfect in every way. It feels like Andrew Farriss deliberately went out of his way to bring each band members' talents to the fore, and boy does he succeed.

Farriss' keyboards compliment the orchestral arrangement that guides us into the song, the grand scale of the song present from the start. Then there is Tim Farriss' epic guitar riff, Pengilly at his best with a sensational sax solo, and Andrew Farriss' drums and Garry Gary Beers' underrated bass searing underneath.

The highlight, as always, is Hutchence's soulful yet pained vocals, with the lead singer taking us in from the moment he utters the iconic first line. It is the best song of INXS' career, and occurred at a time when they were truly the greatest band in the world.
