10 Greatest Love Songs In Rock Music History

3. Wildflowers - Tom Petty

Throughout his career, Tom Petty was never known to have an inauthentic bone in his body. Ever since he first picked up a guitar, everything that seemed to come out of his songbook felt like it was being sung from his heart and soul. In between the singles like Free Fallin and Learning to Fly though, we got this little hint of beauty that seemed to fall out of the sky.

Written in one go at his home studio, Wildflowers is probably the most innocent song that Petty ever wrote, with most of the lyrics wishing well on anyone who you love in your life. From the sound of the song to the lyrics, you can practically consider this to be borderline unromantic in a sense, with Petty just singing about how he hopes that whoever he loves is able to find some sort of peace, whether it be among the wildflowers or somewhere else in the world.

Then again, that might still be the best philosophy that Tom could have had at this point. It's no secret that across the world, there are a million things that can make you feel like the world is crumbling down. So when you have a song like this come on showing the more brighter side of life, it's like a sonic ray of sunshine coming up through the cracks.
