Stand Out Track: The albums title track, Ironbound. Six and a half minutes of glorious thrash featuring acoustic interludes, stomping breakdowns, furious riffs, pummeling bass and Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth's unconventional bark. In short, everything that's great about Thrash Metal. Overkill unleashed a monster when they released Ironbound in 2010. This album is as fresh as taking a cold shower at the North Pole and is state-of-the-art Thrash Metal with only one mission; to kill. That these East-Coast kings still find the energy to create such uncompromising music after 30 years in the business is a lesson to modern thrash bands, be in this for the long haul or be blown away by the veterans. Not quite in the same league as their earlier 80's classics Taking Over, The Years of Decay and Horrorscope, Overkill have still managed to stamp their authority on the modern era, reminding all as to why they are so revered and beloved by fans. Ageless, uncompromising and fearless, Overkill continue to prove their mettle and Ironbound is as strong a record as you could hope for.
