10 Greatest Power Metal Albums Of All Time
4. Hail To England - Manowar
One of power metal’s most iconic acts, Manowar were bound to storm their way into this list at some point. And here they are, with one of the cornerstone albums that helped define the entire genre.
Breathless pace, uber-powerful vocals from Eric Adams, and insane performances from everybody else on their respective instruments, helped produce a sound that was extreme, sharp, and perfectly able to reflect the complex meanings behind the songs themselves.
Blood of My Enemies kicks things off at an insane speed, effectively creating the template for what would eventually become the staple of the genre. Kill with Power motors along at the same relentless speed. The album finishes with the dark and devious Bridge of Death, which takes us down the kind of evil path not usually seen in power metal.
Truth be told every song on the album is a must-listen, but if anyone had to choose, the three aforementioned songs and the title track should be on top of the list.
