10 Greatest Power Metal Albums Of All Time

5. Legacy Of Kings - Hammerfall

Many credit Hammerfall for helping revitalize metal in the late 90s. After creating some magic with their first album, it was their following LP that truly, no pun intended, sealed their legacy.

With a musical style that kept things simple (by power metal standards at least), Hammerfall effectively brought magic and dragons back to the metal scene. Leaning heavily into the melodic side of power metal, Legacy of Kings delivers a thoroughly enjoyable journey, filled with songs that get you immersed, while at the same time making you want to sing along.

The star of the show is without a doubt Joacim Cans and his well written melodies. And aside from the riffs, the solos, and the vocal performance, and catchy choruses, it’s also worth giving a special mention to the bridges.

As for the best songs on the album, the honours go to Warriors of Faith, Dreamland, and the title track.

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
