10 Greatest Rock Bands With More Than Two Guitarists

1. Eagles

The final act to boast a set of talented triplets are the one and only Eagles, which means this list is ending on a double whammy of Southern rock greatness.

Many will have come across the Eagles' 1971-1975 Greatest Hits collection, which is the best-selling album of any kind in United States history. Songs like Life in the Fast Lane, Take It to the Limit, and Peaceful Easy Feeling made the record a must-have and cemented the group's place as American musical legends.

The band's success can be attributed to many different things, but one of the leading causes was the fact that they once had three world class guitarists under their umbrella.

What started out as a partnership between Bernie Leadon and Glenn Frey became a thruple when Don Felder joined in 1974. Leadon was subbed out for Joe Walsh in 1975, just in time for their seminal release, Hotel California.

Whether Felder and Frey were joined by Leadon or Walsh, they always played beautifully together. Fans will have their favourite Eagles era for sure, but whatever it is, they both prove that three is, indeed, the magic number.
