10 Greatest Rock Bands With More Than Two Guitarists
9. Kvelertak
Taking their name from the Norwegian word for stranglehold, Kvelertak are a heavy metal band from, you guessed it, Norway!
Formed in 2007, Kvelertak are notable for writing most of their music in their native language, unlike their English-singing contemporaries. Fusing heavier sounds with more traditional rock and roll has set them out from the crowded field of Scandinavian metal, and two of their albums have topped the Norwegian charts as a result.
Look, it's not the most prestigious achievement in music, but a number one is a number one.
Kvelertak have always had three guitarists, though they haven't always been the same ones. Members Vidar Landa and Bjarte Lund Rolland (who also plays keyboards) have been there since the very start, whilst original member Anders Mosness left in 2009.
Maciek Ofstad took his place, bringing the current trio of shredders up to date.
Whilst Linda, Rolland, and Ofstad have played on every Kvelertak studio release, spare a thought for Mosness, who departed the group just before their first studio album was released.
