Any rock hit that got famous past 2007 felt more like an anomaly than anything else. Since hip hop was slowly taking over the charts and the rest of the world was starting to jump on the crunk bandwagon, the harshest kind of rock to sniff the charts were a couple of songs from people like Avril Lavigne and Fall Out Boy. Out of fray though, we got one of the greatest guitar heroes of this generation get a hit through sheer force of will.

Originally being heralded as the next guitar discovery of Michael Jackson before his death, Orianthi's breakout hit According To You is still one of the greatest kiss off songs of the late '00s. Even though she hid behind her guitar with MJ, Orianthi is a more than capable singer in her own right, having the right grit and growl with just a hint of pop polish to bring her over the top.

Am I missing anything....oh yeah, and she can shred the entire damn room apart. Seriously, any guitarists listening to a song like this is going to be in for one hell of a reality check, especially the mid song solo where she brings different tapping licks into the mix. Rock wouldn't trouble the charts nearly as much in the next few years, but with stuff like this, there was some hope, right?
