10 Greatest Shock Rock Acts
9. Rob Zombie
Rob Zombie has always been a true shock rock auteur. Ever since his beginnings in the band White Zombie, Rob is clearly a student of the horror rockers of old as he delivers a harsh assault of industrial metal. His vast knowledge of movies has also led to some of his greatest works featuring samples from classic horror films.
Once he struck out on his own, Rob was hellbent on delivering as many Zombie trademarks that were guaranteed to scare the hell out of the parents of each respective fan. Over time, Zombie has become a mainstay of the shock rock genre, even having an intense horror-metal singalong track in "Dragula." With the help of guitarist John 5 in recent years, Zombie has been able to tap into even more ominous and grimy sounds.
Outside of music, Rob has also earned his stripes as a horror movie director with smashes like the remake of John Carpenter's "Halloween" and "House of 1000 Corpses," with plenty of shock and gore in tow. For a man with a solid musical history, Rob Zombie truly understands the power of visuals in taking music to a whole different level.
