10 Greatest Singers In Rock Music History
1. Freddie Mercury - Queen
Before we even start this one, there's pretty much going to be no arguing here. Before a majority of you even clicked on this, you knew that there was one British monarch that needed to be included at some point or another. Hell, if anyone even tries to tell you that Freddie Mercury isn't the best singer that rock has to offer, it's irrelevant and should be ignored entirely.
Throughout each iteration of Queen, Freddie always was on the cusp of something brilliant, contorting his voice into anything he saw fit on each song. Going from the world of prog rock in the early days to eventually full blown pop in the '80s, each song seemed to fit Mercury like a glove, like the stadium rock of Fat Bottomed Girls or the rockabilly sounds of Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
Freddie also wasn't afraid to test the power of his voice either, going on weird tangents like on Seaside Rendezvous or pushing it to the absolute limit in his poor health on The Show Must Go On. And we can't ignore Bohemian Rhapsody, which was always Freddie's baby and proof why he worked himself to the brink to try and capture his own view of perfection. Working up until his dying day, you can't really say that Freddie's health got the best of him. No, the afterlife got Freddie, and he's probably off somewhere on the next plane of existence with the audience still in the palm of his hand.
