10 Guilty Pleasure Albums Nobody Will Admit That They Love
9. My Chemical Romance The Black Parade
When I was... a young boy... my father... took me into the city to see a marching band. You read that in Gerard Way's voice, didn't you? Of course you did. In the years since My Chemical Romance's 2006 album The Black Parade released, the opening to lead single Welcome To The Black Parade has become one of the most iconic in modern rock. The piano. The voice. The slow build followed by crashing guitars. We've all felt the pull at some point. And that's just one song. Who hasn't claimed that teenagers scare the living sh*t out of them, too? The whole album is Queen-infused madness, and theatricality that manages to transcend the status of gimmick to become integral. The Black Parade was the ghoulish rock opera the world didn't know it wanted until it was gloriously thrust upon it. You just won't catch many people admitting it. Why? People are too afraid of being called emo.
